from One Land to Another by Guanyu Xu

徐冠宇 Guanyu Xu (b.1993 Beijing) is studying for his BFA degree in the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was the recipient of the Fred Endsley Memorial Fellowship and the finalist of Lucie Foundation Emerging Artist Scholarship. His works have been exhibited internationally including the Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins; New York Photo Festival, New York; Orange County Center for Contemporary Art, Santa Ana; Embassy Tea Gallery, London; Ph21 Gallery, Budapest, and others. His works have been featured in numerous publications including Aint-Bad Magazine, ArtAscent and China Photographic Publishing House.​

Kirsten Vail Aguilar was born and raised in Sonoma, California. She graduated from Middlebury College in 2014 with a degree in International Studies and Film and Media Culture. At Middlebury, she was chosen as a 2014 Middlebury Fellow in Narrative Journalism. Most recently, her fiction and non-fiction has appeared in Crazyhorse, Cleaver Magazine, The Boiler Journal and Pour Vida Zine. She is a co-founder and current member of JKL Collective, a Chicago based artist collective exploring the intersections between movement, words and visual media.
